KERRIANNE CORTEZ

The most cliché way to start this would be to say something like “ever since I was a kid...”. But truly, since being able to pick up a crayon and make marks on a surface, I have always known that I would go the creative route when it came to what I wanted to be when I grew up. Not an astronaut or a doctor, but an artist that is a vital instrument in the world and experiences we live.

Before attending Savannah College of Art and Design (c.o 2017 B.F.A Illustration), I was mainly a traditional illustrator- working with acrylic, watercolors and inks. While in college, I began to experiment with digital art more. Initially I would start off with a detailed pen and ink drawing which I would scan and manipulate in Photoshop or Illustrator. Eventually, as my work evolved, I was able to develop a purely digital graphic design style that still reflects my traditional roots in art.
